Jonathan VanAntwerpen is a program director at the Henry Luce Foundation. Originally trained as a philosopher, he holds a Ph.D. in sociology from UC-Berkeley, and served for a decade on the staff of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC). Jonathan led the SSRC team that launched The Immanent Frame. He is co-editor of The Power of Religion in the Public Sphere (with contributions by Judith Butler, Jürgen Habermas, Charles Taylor, and Cornel West, and an afterword by Craig Calhoun).
