Join us along the river for a Santa Cruz Watershed Day of Connection, a hands-on effort to restore and celebrate one of our region’s most important natural resources.
Taking place at Verdugo Park (902 S Verdugo Ave, Tucson, AZ 85714) in the Barrio Kroeger Lane, of downtown Tucson. In preparation of the BKL 104 year anniversary celebration, this collaborative event—aims to remove 2,000 pounds of trash from the river while providing participants with a meaningful way to engage with their local environment.
The Santa Cruz River is a rare ecological and cultural lifeline for southern Arizona. Trash and debris in the river not only degrade the landscape but also harm local wildlife and water quality. By participating in this cleanup, volunteers will help reduce pollution, improve habitat for native species, and contribute to the long-term health of the river system.
Please wear close toed shoes and Brin g a water bottle! Free music, food and fun!
