A delightful #BikeTooter commute #today Warmer (above zero!) but with more snow than yesterday and the hydro corridor path wasn't cleared so that part was a bit of a slog. The stretch through the woods was really nice though.
Have an amazing day!
Today's #BikeTooter commute had a little surprise in store: It was back down to -15° and there was snow on the ground! Winter tires worked a treat and I cruised along at near normal speeds and felt stable. I do wish I'd worn my snow boots, though. SPD shoes were a little cold.
So nice also to be able to say thank you to the person plowing the Hydro Corridor. I really appreciate what they do. #Gratitude
Really nice commute in this morning. There was still the usual headwind but the temperature was only -5 - almost 15 degrees warmer than my last commute. Also tires had been too low and chain needed lubrication badly so I felt like a speed demon. Such a nice change.
Is it weird that I feel like I could feel a little spring in the air? I don't know if it was the smell, the light or just 15 degrees warmer. I mean really, if it were another 15 degrees warmer, I wouldn't wear a coat. #BikeTooter
Cycling to work looks like this #today Today was -16°C but feels like -26. Warm enough though I have to work on goggle fit. These may not work for me with glasses underneath. There's some discomfort and they're fogging too. Still, everything else is nice and warm.
Another downside of this weather, though: The paths are cleared nicely but with the icy wind, powdery snow is drifting in places. It makes for an interesting ride
This is the first winter I've been really committed to #bike commuting. Warm clothes and studded winter tires make this something I look forward to instead of really hating winter like I have for years #biketooter #cycling
