Unfortunately, the STL files we used above have since been removed from thingiverse and myminifacotry, but we did find new links from both websites and have shared them above (as of 04.03.2022). We have not tried printing any of those. Also, if you do 3D print your own keys it would be awesome to see photos of your own build. Hope this helps!

I am currently in the process of building this dark saber but I am having the same issue as Josh. The parts for the blade on smaller printers do not have any way of fastening them together. I would love the remixed files for the blade with added length! I do understand that it is heavier and needs more support, I will be getting some polycarbonate for the covers like you use to help support the added length. Please let me know how I can go about getting ahold of the remixed STLs. I look forward to hearing back from you!

I updated my post to describe the screws and nuts used to connect and hold the darksaber blade together. If you are just interested to build the blade as original, by Adafruit, I recommend you check out the 3D printing page of Adafruit's build. See the 4th and 5th paragraphs under the "Building a full-sized Darksaber blade" section above for more info. If you are interested to build the extended blade, I do have an STL copy of my remix for the extended blade. Like I share above though, it does need some kind of extra support as on its own it is not rigid/strong enough to hold the extended length. If you're still interested, please ping back here or email us at contact(at)skkaw(dot)blog. I just want to be sure you're aware that the extended blade alone may not actually stand straight (it's so long it bends under gravity). Which I why I needed to use polycarbonate to hold it all together. It would be awesome to hear how your build goes. I hope you'll keep us posted here or share a link to your completed build as well.
