Introduction Watching the news is now like a horror story; more taxes, increase in prices, increase in the standard of living and yet the cedi continues to decline, our roads remain an appalling sight and the poverty rate is increasing. Going outside isn’t much help either, as one is an unwilling witness to the daily […]

17.6.2024 00:14Comment on An Open Letter to my parents by Michael MorttyYou say I’m lazy, I’m proud, I’m rebellious. All because I want to reach for the stars and not focus on cooking your meals and being a parent to a child at the same age I was able to nurse an infant and ran a home. You think I’m a disappointment, that is fine. You are a disappointment to me too.
1.4.2024 01:38An Open Letter to my parentsI would like to iterate that Feminism is not a Western concept. The word is Western, the concept is not. There have been so many Queens, Matriarchs, Warriors, Politicians of Africa. Women were ruling and in the same position as their male counterpart. Unlike the misconceptions in the Western world, being a mother and a wife was not a weaker position, but rather a great calling, that in many towns was not mandatory, and was respected and valued in society. Marriage was not the order of the day and thus children born were for the woman and her family, and she required no help solely from the father because the whole community contributed to child development.
22.3.2024 09:13AFRICAN FEMINISMThe first wave of feminism did its job and accomplished it well; provide women’s suffrage, i.e. political rights of women, especially the right to vote. The second wave saw to it that women all over the world had more rights and more economic and social freedom. Things are looking good, or are they?
10.1.2024 20:05Do Women have it easy?Men are people too, so are women. Feminism is not only here to bash men, but to also let each person have accountability for their actions. Feminism is here to destroy gender roles and ensure that there is no discrimination based on sex. I hope that more women were feminists, but if men were feminists too, it would help a lot more people from diverse races and genders.
25.12.2023 01:46How feminism benefits menIn reply to Ephraimina Boakye. Girl. You are so right! Anger is a good thing. It means we know and we are brave enough to do something about it. I'm glad you liked this darling
17.12.2023 09:12Comment on What is Feminism? by J. KwakuyiBeing angry is justified because it hurts to become more self aware of how females are specially trained to be submissive. Beautiful piece
My first time hearing about *choice feminism*. Interesting read :)
13.12.2023 12:57Comment on What is Feminism? by Khadijah MohammedFeminism is a lot of things to a lot of people. To young ambitious women, it is the tool to climb the academic and career ladder, to the older activists, it is the path to true enlightenment and the unlocking of untapped talents in women, to African parents, it is what is making their daughter lazy and unmarried and to the average African man, it is the reason why girls nowadays are so bashful and disrespectful.
