Thirty years ago today, Mad Season, made up of members of Pearl Jam (Mike McCready), Alice in Chains (Laine Staley), and more, released the album Above.
I always liked this album, but couldn't stand Alice in Chains, which is a different story for a different time.

Back from the record store. Today's pickups from left to right: Jason Isbell - Foxes in the Snow, Bob Mould - Here We Go Crazy, and Rush - Roll The Bones. This Jason Isbell record is heart wrenching and beautiful.

I will never apologize for my love of 80s pop music. And thanks to KDWB here in Minneapolis, they introduced Roxette to the US all those years ago.

Today in 1992 Tori Amos released her solo debut album, Little Earthquakes, in the US. I love this album - I still remember being blown away the first time I heard it. And as someone who grew up playing piano, I appreciate it even more.

Five years ago today Best Coast's Always Tomorrow was released. This would be the last concert I saw before the pandemic shut down everything, at First Avenue no less. (And I don't know if or when I'll get to another concert as my tinnitus is getting worse).
The band is on hiatus as Bethany Consentino does the solo thing, but here's hoping they reunite soon.

Sometimes I forget how great this album is. I miss Tom Petty.

I am eagerly awaiting Jason Isbell's next solo record, Foxes in the Snow, out in March. Until then I will listen to this.
