At infinity, a circle is a point on one side and a line on the other. Just check this out. Now imagine two entities moving from a point on this line in opposite directions with equal speed, thus describing the path of an infinitely large circle. From the starting point we determine that one side leads to minus infinity and the other side to plus infinity. Since it is a circle, at some indefinite moment the two entities will have to meet again somewhere at infinity. Viewed this way, −∞ = ∞.
