What is there to say about the mejestiic breed of dog that is the Bernese Mountain Dog? My wife and I first learned that Bernese Mountain Dogs existed when we attended our first dog show back in 2008. Ever since we first laid eyes on them we have been fascinated by the breed. When we bought our first and current home over 15 years ago we wanted to get a Bernese Mountain... Read More

12.3.2025 18:11My Favorite Breed Of Dog: Bernese Mountain DogI live in a beautiful region of the United States. We are blessed with so many natural wonders. There is never a shortage of place to go and enjoy some time outside. One thing we do lack where I live is anything that most people would probably consider a true mountain. There are no particularly high areas of elevation. There isn’t really anyplace where you can hike to the top and get... Read More

5.3.2025 17:26My Favorite Mountain Hike: Mount MarcyThere is no understating how powerful a great scenic overlook can be. Great places to experience landscapes. Looking out over the countryside for miles and miles. Some scenic views require more work than others. For views at some locations you have to climb a mountain. Maybe you just have to walk down a short path. Others you can just pull right up in your car. Some locations offer one simple and beautiful... Read More

26.2.2025 01:08My Favorite Scenic OverlookI often talk about how fortunate I am to live where I do. And it is so true. One of the reasons that I love where I live is because it sets me up to be able to visit so many beautiful places. Most people probably live relatively close to one or two beautiful natural lands. I on the other hand am lucky enough to live in a location that sets me... Read More

19.2.2025 01:04My Favorite Pennsylvania State Park: Worlds End State ParkI am fortunate to live in an area where I can hop in my car and drive to any number of state parks in around an hour to an hour and a half. Many of those state parks are in New York. And while I don’t have a state park that is right in my own back yard I have so many within a decent drive that it is a huge reason... Read More

12.2.2025 17:07My Favorite New York State ParkI am fortunate to live in an area that features an abundance of waterfalls. And I have become increasingly drawn too photographing waterfalls over the years. It is hard to think about what would be my favorite waterfall. Every waterfall is so unique. And every waterfall changes so much depending on when you visit. But the presentation and environment surrounding the waterfall contributes to how it makes me feel. Watkins Glen State... Read More

5.2.2025 19:34My Favorite WaterfallI love trees. They are amazing pars of nature. The science of trees is truly fascinating the more we learn about them. And I love trees as an artist and photographer. But, you might think, can someone really have a favorite tree? After all there are limitless trees to look at. Trees are almost literally everywhere. Especially where I live. But while trees may seem to be omnipresent they don’t exist forever.... Read More

29.1.2025 19:29My Favorite TreeI really enjoy being outside in nature. Most of the time I like to be moving through nature. Trying to see all that I can see. For me moving through nature mostly means following hiking trails. There are several nice local trails to enjoy a short hike on near where I live. But I really crave a sense of adventure. Even if it’s not really an adventure but trails I have been... Read More

22.1.2025 16:57My Favorite Hiking Trail: Finger Lakes TrailI usually plan most of my races in advance. If not registered for well in advance then they are at least on my calendar so I can sign up for them if I decide I want to run it. But sometimes you just go run a race. In 2024 I paced a friend for 20 miles of the Twisted Branch 100k. Since then we kept in touch about our running adventures and... Read More

21.1.2025 21:042024 Mendon Trail RunThe Wineglass Marathon is a great local event that runners attend from all over. It is where I ran my first ever half marathon. I have stood along the course and cheered and photographed runners for several years. And the last three years I have volunteers as bike support for the event. And in 2024 I also volunteered to work at the Wineglass Expo helping fellow runners and their families get any... Read More

It definitely takes complete commitment. You have to be willing to do whatever it takes to create the photo and share it. There were some times where it was a real struggle. Sometimes just to be inspired to take a photo and some times to simply find time or have an internet connections. I am rooting for you. Keep working at it.
19.10.2023 00:56Comment on Challenge Yourself By Photographing Different Subjects by kylereynoldsI applaud your efforts. I've tried the photo-a-day for several years, and have never managed to post 365/366 photos. One year, in spite of my initial efforts I only posted about 6 times. Yikes. This year I'm managing to keep up but there are times when I pull an image from my files instead of using a pic I've taken that day. For me it's a VERY difficult challenge but it can be done with a lot of grit and determination.
