Does anyone remember the little Nike+iPod sensor that you could clip to your shoe? I’ve always enjoyed running but first started tracking my running data after getting one of those sensors for Christmas in 2009. It was laughably inaccurate, and within a few months, I ditched the chip and started using the RunKeeper app on my iPhone 3GS.
7.12.2024 22:11My 2024 Running ReviewIn reply to Justin. Not specifically in-house teams, but Hacker News (https://news.ycombinator.com/) is a great aggregated source of eng topics.
1.11.2024 10:18Comment on Design Team Blogroll by Jason BeairdHello stumbled upon this and its amazing! I'm wondering if you know of any website that is similar to this but aggregates software engineering related topics?
1.11.2024 06:04Comment on Design Team Blogroll by JustinThat's it. That's the takeaway I've been trying to distill from my trip to Chicago last week. I was there for a Q4 onsite, working with and meeting new teammates from an additional product zone I’m now leading design for at Sprout Social.
26.10.2024 13:10More Guiding, Less RightingMy house has these faux masonry shutters and I can't stand them! (Tampa Bay Florida) I was Googling ideas to cover them or do something creative over them and found this article. I wish they were just plaster shutters you could pry off but nooo like the article says they're built into the house/masonry. I'm looking into buying wood panel shutters from Lowes to try and cover these for an updated look. Not sure if it can be done but looking into it.

I don't use profile notifications much, but that's good to know. I have some quiet lists that I rarely check, so an option for list post notifications would be nice.

Thanks David! So many endpoints. With the ActivityPub Wordpress plugin, Fediverse replies to @jasongraphix@jasongraphix.com will also show up in the comments here.

24.7.2024 13:54Comment on Following Threads on Mastodon by Jason BeairdNice work here Figured I'd comment on the source instead of the endpoints.
24.7.2024 11:27Comment on Following Threads on Mastodon by David WindhamDo you want separate chronological feeds for specific sets of profiles on Threads? You're not alone! If you have a Mastodon account and follow Threads users who have Fediverse sharing turned on, you can use the lists feature on Mastodon to achieve this. Back in April, I imported my Threads follows into Mastodon and posted a video showing my list columns there.
23.7.2024 23:25Following Threads on MastodonIn reply to Heather Bradley. Thanks for the comment, Heather! It’s a shame there isn’t more documentation about the masonry shutter style. I’m not completely anti-shutter and think you should replace yours with whatever makes you happy and works best for your place. There’s plenty of great-looking shutter inspiration out there.
11.6.2024 02:45Comment on Mid-Century Masonry Faux Shutter Accents by Jason BeairdI’m actually thinking of removing the old worn out shutters on my 50’s bungalow and replacing with masonry. Found your article whole looking for inspiration, which there isn’t much of! Orlando area. Should I not? Haha.
11.6.2024 01:22Comment on Mid-Century Masonry Faux Shutter Accents by Heather BradleyI'm a big advocate for design teams that write about their work and process because so much of what we're trying to solve is universal. Blog posts about work from designers and UX professionals create a window into how design operates in other organizations that can help all of us improve our craft.
24.4.2024 17:50Introducing Team Design TeamIt’s hard to believe it, but today is my 3-year anniversary at Sprout Social. Anyone who’s worked with me before knows that I’m passionate about design systems, and the role I originally applied for was to be a Product Design Manager on that team.
30.3.2024 02:22Celebrating 3 Years at Sprout SocialAs the holidays were approaching in December, I wanted to send a small token of gratitude to the product designers on my team at Sprout Social. My go-to holiday gift for teammates in the past has been a page-a-day desk calendar, but I decided to be a little more creative this year.
12.1.2024 00:17Making a Fidget Toy From a LogoWith the news in December that Threads was starting to test an ActivityPub integration, there has been a steady flow of articles about what Meta’s support for this W3C Protocol means for the future of social media. One of my favorites is Colin Devroe’s post about how ActivityPub will cross the chasm in 2024.
8.1.2024 21:04Custom Domains & The Social WebFor me, the wheels started turning when we set the dates for our product zone's Chicago HQ onsite and decided to make a hackathon the focus of our 2 days together. I wanted to make this meetup a memorable one and create some kind of tangible reminder of the occasion. I also knew that our hackathon teams would work hard on their self-selected projects and that everyone who participated would deserve a fun reward.
27.11.2023 14:45Challenge Coins & Cheesy TrophiesAs someone who loves Onewheel trail riding, I've often wished I could be more "locked in" on my board while cruising over rough terrain. Replacing the stock grip tape was really the only change I made that helped with that, but it's still easy to get thrown off occasionally by the roots, rocks, and drops that are common on mountain bike trails. I wanted something more than increased surface friction to keep my feet planted.
2.11.2023 01:32FlightFins Falcons for OnewheelA couple of weeks ago I decided it was time to build something fun. My kids and I enjoy tinkering with maker projects here and there, but we haven’t made anything lately quite like our epic Twang LED Strip game build from last year. I really wanted another project that required some 3D printing and made use of an Arduino Uno and some Arduino starter kit parts we had sitting idle.
