AI Doesn’t Know How t oDraw an Anlog Clock

https://francofolini.com/2025/03...

Apparently AI tools don’t know how to draw an analog clock! I’ve asked several AI image generators (ChatGPT, Gemini, Canva, Midjourney, Photoshop) to draw a clock showing a specific time, but all seem to default to 10:10. 👉 Check out the carousel to see the results for yourself! Why does this happen? AI models learn... Continue Reading →

What’s The Best Time to Display a “Subscribe” Popup?

https://francofolini.com/2025/01...

It is essential to thoughtfully determine the optimal times to show a website’s “Subscribe to Our Newsletter” popup to enhance its conversion rate and decrease the website bounce rate. I recommend doing nothing until the user shows some level of engagement. On the first visit, wait 40-60 seconds or until the user reaches the end of... Continue Reading →

Comment on Tradizioni culturali e contaminazioni gastronomiche by InterCulturalPathways

https://francofolini.com/2023/12...

Leading a Startup Leaves Times For Little Else

https://francofolini.com/2024/12...

Startup CEOs should focus on only one key objective: guiding the company to its next growth phase. This is a very challenging task that leaves little room for distractions. If a startup’s CEO spends time consulting, promoting himself on social media instead of the company, or juggling two jobs, they are very unlikely to succeed... Continue Reading →

TrenItalia e TreNord: Una Triste Storia di Mediocrità Tutta Italiana

https://francofolini.com/2024/12...

Please, Stop Using PDFs Online

https://francofolini.com/2024/12...

Using PDF documents on websites is discouraged, except for legal contexts. They are not mobile-friendly, challenging to navigate, and problematic for visually impaired users. Such documents can lead to frustrating experiences when accessing restaurant menus or company flyers.

Remarketing Campaigns Done Correctly

https://francofolini.com/2024/12...

When running a remarketing (Google favorite name) or retargeting (Meta favorite name) campaign to attract new customers (on Google Search, YouTube, or Facebook), always remember to exclude your current customers. You can select your current customers by uploading a list or defining a specific audience.Believe me, I’ve experienced it. Nothing frustrates users more than being... Continue Reading →

In email and SMS marketing campaigns to your customers, use a different sender than you use for technical communications, tech support, or billing. Users might unsubscribe or mark the message as spam, with disastrous implications for your future communications.

In reply to nashero. I agree 100%. There is a need for Italians to upgrade their (our) business culture. The current way of running meetings, doing business is very ineffective.

Comment on Connecting Google Maps and Google Sheets to Solve the Traveling-Salesman Problem by Mike

https://francofolini.com/2020/09...

Thanks so much for this; it was exactly what I needed, and got me almost all the way there. I got a few errors, but they were all of the same nature - needing to check that variables existed or were non-empty before using them; for instance, adding if(stops){...}, if(directions){ if(directions.routes.length > 0){...}}, etc. I wonder if perhaps there was an older version of javascript that was less rigid about things like that?
