I live near a series of huge grain bins. Every fall, the newly harvested corn goes in the bins. The corn from last year has to get dumped on the ground in a big pile, to make room in the bins. It's difficult to convey what a great whacking huge pile it is.
This year, someone helpfully parked a tractor in front of the pile, which gives you some idea.
It was a dry summer last year. I thought the deer would stop digging up my new transplants if I gave them another source of water. All the woodland creatures showed up.
