We had drama today! Well, we saw my step-daughter perform for her “A” level exam and it was brilliant.
Having heard all about it, it was finally good to see it all come together.
Tomorrow, my wife and I are flying to Prague for a couple of nights. I can’t wait.

Tomorrow I’m in half a day as I’m going to watch my step-daughter perform her ‘A’ level Drama work. She’s been working and rehearsing so hard for this, I know it will be fantastic.

What an extraordinary book. I don’t usually write a review, but this was wonderful. Having seen the TV series, I was excited to read the original and I wasn’t disappointed. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Brownsea Island - The First Scout Camp

I love this view across Poole Bay, taking in the vista as the camera sweeps towards Brownsea Island.

From 1 August until 8 August 1907, Robert Baden-Powell held an experimental camp on the island, to test out his Scouting ideas.

He gathered 21 boys of mixed social backgrounds (from boys' schools in the London area and a section of boys from the Poole, Parkstone, Hamworthy, Bournemouth, and Winton Boys' Brigade units) and held a week-long camp.

The boys took part in activities such as camping, observation, woodcraft, chivalry, lifesaving and patriotism.

Following the successful camp, Baden-Powell published his first book on the Scouting movement in 1908, Scouting for Boys, and the international Scouting movement grew rapidly.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Saturday Night Takeaway

Our Saturday experience was fantastic.
My son had applied to “Win the Ads”, a segment on the show “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway”.
Amazingly, he was invited to take part (or rather, be in with a chance to play), so this morning we headed to Television Centre in London.

If you’ve never seen it, it’s a bonkers show to watch on TV; it’s even more bonkers sitting in the studio watching it live.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t selected for the chance to win, but we were entertained and looked after from when we arrived at 2pm, right through to the end of the show at 8:30pm.

Props to the ITV team for their attentiveness and professionalism.
