10.1.2025 14:19Comment on Memes, Shibboleths, and Sociolects by The Meta decision: you can’t put the toothpaste back in the tube – DesignersForestFor my final reflection, I need to discuss my overall impression of instructional design and talk about what I learned in the course. So here goes. The textbook firmly establishes the ADDIE model, which is central to the field of instructional design, and the course gives a good feeling for how that model intersects with […]
6.1.2025 12:03Day 11: Final ReflectionFor day 8, part 1, we were tasked with employing a mental exercise titled Wilson’s Situated Instructional Design. The exercise entails identifying a mental image with various aspects of the design process with a familiar mental space to help memory. I used my apartment since it’s the only place that I know well right now. […]
6.1.2025 11:38Day 8 – Reflection 1This reflection focuses on incorporating the findings of Mayer (2017) “Using Multimedia for E-Learning.” The article summarizes the research on the most effective uses of multimedia designed for computer-based instruction. In the design I created, the segmented nature of the tasks, conforms with Mayer’s (2017) finding on segmented versus continuous computer-based instruction. However, to incorporate […]
6.1.2025 08:27Day 8 – Reflections Part IIThis reflection focused on the analysis phase of the design document. The chosen client works at a housing development conglomerate in Japan, so I had conducted a hypothetical analysis of the clients based on her experience as an environment, social, and governance (ESG) manager. Since the learners are staff that sometimes struggle to see the […]
5.1.2025 16:07LTEC-5210: Day 4 ReflectionFor day 2’s reflection, I need to discuss my theory of learning, so what follows are some thoughts on how I view the learning process. Learning occurs in the perfect—not the past—tense. When I was preparing for my senior recital as an undergraduate in music school, I wanted to include a piece that included a […]

The Chronicle of Higher Education posted a terrific article on applications of technology for improving student feedback, and one point that caught my attention was the emphasis on audio/video feedback: To put our cards on the table upfront: We are strong advocates of video and audio feedback, and that’s what you will see most emphasized […]
23.10.2024 14:05Maximizing Feedback Efficiency with TechnologyEven when condemning the perils of grade inflation, educators neglect employers and society as stakeholders of grade reliability: But college admissions officers aren’t the only stakeholders in the grading system. Especially in earlier grades, parents are even more important. They can offer their children resources, such as tutoring, or help hold them accountable for their […]

9.10.2024 14:06Comment on The Intellectual Laziness of Tribalism by cottafinleighThe vitriol in our political discourse is something I’ve thought about for a while. Many people attribute the partisan divide to the American competitive spirit — something akin to the competition that exists between fans of popular sports clubs. But I have a different idea, which resembles something Mona Charen wrote on the political blog […]

As your fellow traveler and MEXTESOL presenter. I too discovered that the city of Querétaro is terribly underrated. Having attended your Feedback Presentation, I feel that it was well prepared and filled with practical advise.

You're probably right about the church. I wasn't thinking of true gothic in the architectural sense, but more in the Hammer horror films sense, with the skulls and such.
29.8.2018 22:31Comment on Highlights from México by Ezra VasquezNice photos of Rivera's murals. I would not say that church is Gothic, though... More like baroque, actually! :)
