Many thanks for your heartwarming and encouraging comments, Tim. You have wonderful way with words, capturing complex ideas in a few words. “Who we were, where we were, and what we were up to in those decisive moments in our near and distant pasts.” I have placed that quote in my important quote book.

I agree - there is diversity in everything. But I am learning to be a more discerning viewer of photographs. There are so many photos floating around in the internet that I get overwhelmed. Photography is documenting our times. It would be interesting to know what people will think of use 50 years from now!!! LOL!

Thank you, Klausbernd for adding depth and breadth to this discussion. Your comments prompt me to consider photography from a viewer’s position. How can viewers tell when they are looking at an artistic photography as opposed to a documentary photography? Is there a difference between the two and as a viewer how do we know the difference? I believe that we need to become more discerning in how we view a photo. I am finding that we so many photographs floating around in the internet, it becomes overwhelming. I want to be more present when I view a photo, to reflect and consider the intent behind the image—whether it is to document reality or to provoke thought and feeling through artistic interpretation. I believe that understanding these differences enriches our appreciation of the diverse narratives and emotions conveyed through photography. This is why I appreciate Hanne’s photography. She invites me to join her in the moment, to reflect, to enjoy, to celebrate. Sending many thanks along with hugs to my dear friends, The Fab Four of Cley.

14.3.2025 19:40Comment on In Search of Perfection by DarleneThe pursuit of perfect photos often stems from our desire to capture moments in their best light, reflecting not only our memories but also our ideals.
