And Angostura is a magic bottle, namely https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angostura_bitters - you just use a few drops and you can technically leave it out in most cocktails, but it's better with it (I've seen bitters described as "the pepper of cocktails" :) ). That said, introducing localization and/or display label for ingredients would be a trivial thing to add. Mmmh. It wouldn't solve the initial issue of "telling you what that thing is", but you'd only have to figure it out once :P

It took me some time to learn that kosher salt does not actually need to be kosher. I have no clue what Angostura is…
