Hey there! 👋 I'm Zulqarnain Mehdi (but most people just call me Zul), and I'm thrilled you've stumbled upon my little corner of the internet.

A Journey Through Tech

Over the past 12 years, I've had the incredible opportunity to wear quite a few hats in the tech world. From crafting mobile apps and building full-stack web solutions to architecting cloud infrastructures and leading development teams, my journey has taken me across Europe and the Middle East. Currently, I'm working as a Cloud Solutions Architect, but my path has been beautifully winding—spanning roles as a DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, and Tech Lead.

This diverse experience has given me hands-on expertise with an exciting mix of technologies: Azure, AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, Node.js, Python, .NET/C#, React, React Native, and everything from native iOS/Android development to databases both relational and NoSQL. Recently, I've been diving deep into the AI revolution with OpenAI and other cutting-edge tools.

Academically, I hold a Master's in IT and a Bachelor's in Computer Science. I'm also proud to be a published researcher—you can check out my paper on File Synchronization Systems Survey if you're into that sort of thing!

The Global Nomad

Here's something fun about me: I like to describe myself as a "Pakistani from Dubai who lives in Sweden." Born in Pakistan, raised under the Dubai sun, and now calling the beautiful Swedish landscape home—it's been quite the cultural adventure! These experiences have shaped not just who I am personally, but also how I approach problem-solving and collaboration in the tech world.

Life Beyond the Code

When I'm not buried in code or designing cloud architectures, you'll find me in Minecraft with my 5-year-old son Zain, building pixelated castles and exploring virtual worlds together. Or we might be outside playing football—both Zain and his younger brother Zayan keep me on my toes! My wife Aroosa and I love our evening TV sessions, and as a family, we enjoy exploring the stunning Skåne region of Sweden on weekend drives.

In my quieter moments, I'm usually reading, gaming, or diving into something completely new. There's always another technology to explore, another skill to master, or another book to devour.
