They’re now largely esoteric relics from a time gone by. With regular old phone lines rather hard to come by these days, [Peter Mount] decided to try getting a pair of dial-up modems working over VoIP instead. […]

Not that I'm aware of, but disabling touch should be possible. As for brightness levels no - the only mode I've seen is turning either one off or both on.

The performance and stability has been great & Battery life has been good as well. The only issue I've had is if I close the lid then reopen it whilst the machine is running the touch screens default back to running as if they were one (touch not display) but as I rarely do that it's not that an issue. For programming & webapps it's good, not sure about gaming on it though as I don't play games myself.

How is performance, stability and battery so far ?

I have i9 13900h, 4060 8gb and 32 gb ram version. Somehow not happy with the laggish behavior of Win 11 within this hardware. Do you still suggest Mint Cinnamon for programming (data science, machine learning), web applications and soft gaming ? Thanks!

12.8.2024 03:25Comment on Linux on the ASUS Zenbook Duo Pro 14 by erdinaryusJust over Ten years ago, in February 2014, I wrote an article on how to connect an Arduino Uno to a Raspberry PI using I2C directly without using a level shifter between them – which would normally be needed due to the PI running on 3.3V whilst the Arduino is 5V. This morning I came … Continue reading "Plagiarism of one of my old articles"
3.5.2024 13:20Plagiarism of one of my old articlesWhen I first setup Home Assistant here, I did so on a Raspberry PI 4B with a Phoscon RaspBee II ZigBee interface attached. It also has the official Raspberry PI 7″ touch screen, so it’s mounted high up on my Kitchen wall as that’s in a central location in the House. Recently, as Home Assistant … Continue reading "Turning the backlight off on the Raspberry PI 7″ touch screen"
16.3.2024 09:22Turning the backlight off on the Raspberry PI 7″ touch screenYesterday the latest RaspiOS was released based on Debian Bookworm. This is the version of the OS which will support the forthcoming PI5 but as before it supports every previous version of the PI. There’s quite a few changes to this, mainly the use of Wayland as the main window manager & back-end rather than … Continue reading "Getting the Raspbery PI Official Touchscreen to work with RaspiOS Bookworm"
12.10.2023 15:29Getting the Raspbery PI Official Touchscreen to work with RaspiOS BookwormThis is a short article just to see how well the new integration works, but on October 11 2023 WordPress announced that all blogs they host can now be followed by users of Mastodon and other Federated systems. At first I thought they were going to limit this for just the Business tier (the one … Continue reading "WordPress joins the Fediverse"
12.10.2023 12:04WordPress joins the FediverseA common issue with Laptops is that, if you keep your AC adapter connected while using a laptop, the battery is often in a state of high-power(98-100%) for extended length of time which causes a reduction in battery life. Now one feature ASUS had with with Windows was ASUS Battery Health Charging where it allows you to limit the batteries … Continue reading "Limiting battery charge to improve lifetime"
4.7.2023 07:28Limiting battery charge to improve lifetimeAfter 10 years of service, my old laptop was getting a bit long in the tooth. Although it was working perfectly fine, those 10 long years had taken a toll on it’s battery, let alone it was on it’s third power supply, so it was finally time to get a replacement so it could retire … Continue reading "Linux on the ASUS Zenbook Duo Pro 14"
