A spray of meter-tall plants with purple flowers. A fallen log provides a gray background. Sunlight slants unevenly through the forest canopy. A stretch of river with a greenish rippling expanse of flowing water. On the far bank are a tangle of trees and undergrowth. A stretch of rippled river takes up the foreground, while the background shows a variety of deciduous trees climbing the slope beyond the bank. An opening along the bank is tinted green with mossy ground cover. Grass and taller green plants in the foreground. The rest of the image is taken up by rippled, sun spangled water. Near the plants, a tiny turtle, neck outstretched, has perched on a mostly submerged rock. Tiny turtle is soaking up the sunlight, I imagine. The base of a lichen-marked tree with various green plants growing thickly in its shade. To one side are the tall stalks and bright red filaments of some spider-lily blossoms. Grass gives way to energetically growing marsh plants at the edge of a river, Some of the plants have white or pinkish-white flowers on top. A set of tall plants, one grouping with yellow broad bell-like flowers, another with white and pink blossoms, all along the edge of a clear river. A stretch of ground cover. Among the green leaves are sprinkled a few tiny yellow flowers. Trees in the background, then a stretch of water, then a mix of grass and plants in the foreground. A couple of droopy stems are bent over with the weight of small pinkish flowers. Bright red spider-lilies growing among other foliage, all in the shadows from a pair of trees in the background. An expanse of grass leads downslope to a river’s edge. At the base are a clutter of stones and broken branches. On the far bank of the river, a pale strip of ground soon gives way to a jumble of trees. A white roof seems to peek out from the tree cover. All of these are seen reflected in the river water.

A broad river with trees on one bank, clipped lawn and trees on the closer bank. The water is up over some of the vegetation, suggesting flood conditions. The water is brownish and rippling. A blu sky with a few white clouds forms the backdrop. A small black bird is winging its way upstream, close to the water.
