Heroin and Alcohol: One is a deadly, brain-rotting, violence-inducing poison. The other comes from a seed pod. If you’re a regular visitor of antiprohibit.org, you’ll know that we believe that drug prohibition isn’t compatible with American ideals. The most obvious of which are self-determinism, manifest destiny, personal liberty, bodily autonomy, and privacy. It has becomeContinue reading "Heroin and Alcohol: The Hypocrisy of Our Policy of Prohibition of Opium"
28.2.2025 18:38Heroin and Alcohol: The Hypocrisy of Our Policy of Prohibition of OpiumThe Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) was founded in 1973 under the guise of fighting drug trafficking and abuse. But after more than 50 years, trillions of dollars, and millions of arrests, drug markets remain as strong as ever. If the DEA were to succeed in its mission, it would eventually put itself out of aContinue reading "The DEA Isn’t Broken – It’s Failing Intentionally"
10.2.2025 15:38The DEA Isn’t Broken – It’s Failing IntentionallyIn a surprising twist, former President Donald Trump has commented that Ross Ulbricht, the founder of the Silk Road, has served “enough” of his double life sentence for his role in the infamous online marketplace. This statement has reignited debate about Ulbricht’s harsh sentencing and, perhaps inadvertently, about the broader implications for drug prohibition. TheContinue reading "What Trump’s Comments About Ross Ulbricht Could Mean for the Case Against Prohibition"

9.9.2024 13:31Comment on The Financial Burden of Drug Prohibition by Is Drug Prohibition Compatible with American Ideals? – antiprohibit.orgDrug prohibition contradicts American ideals like personal freedom, limited government, and free markets. Prohibition expands government power, fuels black markets, and disproportionately harms marginalized groups while ignoring evidence supporting alternatives like decriminalization. Policy reform is needed to align drug policy with the values of liberty and justice.
9.9.2024 13:24Is Drug Prohibition Compatible with American Ideals? The debate surrounding the legalization of drugs, particularly opioids, often centers around the moral, medical, and economic consequences. Proponents of prohibition often argue that legalizing drugs can reduce crime, alleviate pressure on the criminal justice system, and allow addicts to seek treatment without fear of legal repercussions. But there’s a crucial element being overlooked: theContinue reading "The Dangers of Legalizing Drugs Without Addressing their Supply: A Loaded Gun in the Hands of a Child"
8.9.2024 18:58The Dangers of Legalizing Drugs Without Addressing their Supply: A Loaded Gun in the Hands of a ChildThe argument for legalizing and safely producing all drugs is gaining traction, driven by a mix of public health and economic concerns. The current approach to drug policy has failed to stem the tide of overdose deaths, with over 600,000 people having lost their lives to acute drug overdoses. To put that in perspective, thisContinue reading "The Case for Legalizing and Safely Producing All Drugs"

8.7.2024 00:22Comment on Part II: The Financial Cost by Part I: The Human Cost – antiprohibit.org[…] While the most effective tactic for political change may seem to be rioting, looting, and basically pillaging small businesses that are unfortunate enough to be located in the area, these methods don’t lend themselves to the type of lasting societal change that’s required to permanently resolve truly devastating social issues. This type of opportunistic violence attracts negative attention, and people may begin to associate the destruction with the cause. This is undoubtedly a step in the wrong direction. Drugs, drug users, and addicts don’t need any more negative publicity. Make no mistake: drug prohibition is one of the single most devastating issues of our lifetimes. You can read more about the devastation it’s causing here. […]

5.7.2024 04:52An Analogy for Pharmacology Through the Lense of Biochemistry – Using LEGOS[…] In the United States, the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) categorizes drugs into five schedules, a system that infringes on constitutional rights by imposing excessive government control over personal choices, and many naturally occurring substances. The CSA’s arbitrary and outdated classifications have long been criticized for lacking scientific basis and undermining individual liberties. Furthermore,it is precisely due to legislation such as this that millions of people are currently incarcerated. […]
