Funny ice and mud structures found on the hike to Foggy Peak. Looks like some ice crystals appeared under a thin layer of mud, pushing it up a few centimetres as a mushroom cap. Make the ground crisp when you walk on it, and sometimes the wind push the crystals making them fall down like dominos as in the first pic. Truly beautiful and fascinating!

My *actual* last hike in #Aotearoa was unforgettable! Started in direction of Castle Hill Peak, not really knowing how far we could go becausenof the snow. We made it up to Foggy Peak, with absolutely stunning views from up there. Very cold, windy and rewarding :P
I'm so glad I've been hiking a last time in the snow before leaving for Tahiti. I'll miss the Southern Alps so much !

Likely my last hike in Aotearoa, Bealey Spur ! It's been too long I haven't see the mountains and I wanted to see the first snow caps. A very easy hike, chill, short, and the views are really worthy if you continue a little after the hut!

We've just been driving 40min south of #Ōtautahi #Christchurch, never saw the road that full of people! I've been struggling to get decent pictures, that is quite hard with my old phone. But they are not too bad. And they are anyway great souvenirs of a memorable experience.
